Kirk first became interested in yoga while training for triathlons in 2003. Reading that yoga could promote faster recovery time from training and decrease injury, he went out and invested in a yoga DVD. It took him almost two years after his purchase of a yoga DVD to find courage to take a class in a yoga studio. After sweating and shaking like never before in a power yoga class, Kirk was hooked. Since that first class, Kirk has been involved with a variety of workshops and teacher trainings. He has trained extensively with both Ann Richardson and Beryl Bender Birch receiving 200 hour certifications from each. Kirk’s teaching has also been influenced by Doug Swenson and Tao Porchon Lynch as well as other talented instructors locally and outside our area. He is registered with Yoga Alliance as a 200 RYT.

Kirk’s classes are energetic and upbeat, challenging yet gentle and are based upon his knowledge of astanga, power and iyengar styles of yoga. He is able to modify the practice to help his students benefit the best they can from yoga. He teaches a variety of workshops for Triathletes to help them improve recovery and understand injury prevention. He and Ann also teach partner & couple’s yoga workshops. Kirk is not only a staple at the Center, but also can be found out side the Center teaching classes at various businesses/corporations. Kirk is very grateful for the opportunity to share this practice with the community.
